Abstract

"On Monday August 16, 1926, Major Edward Sturgis Ingraham passed away in the seventy-fourth year of his life and after fifty-one years of active achievement in Seattle. He was an early superintendent of schools, a printer, a prominent Free Mason, an officer in the National Guard, and an Alaska miner for a short time. He will probably be longest remembered for his pioneer work in mountain climbing and his early services for the Boy Scouts and Camp Fire Girls."
